In this article, I’m going to review the return of the Rose Gold Amex credit card and go over some of the benefits that it has.

So the Rose Gold Amex that was initially released in late 2018 as a limited edition credit card is now back and available for anyone who chooses the Rose Gold option when applying for a Gold Amex card.

And if you already have a Gold Amex card you can call Amex and ask them to send you a rose gold version of the card.
According to a recent Amex Trendex survey.
Apparently, 3 in 5 consumers (or 59%) would be interested in choosing the design of their card.

In a press release from Rachel Stocks who is the Executive Vice President of Global Premium Products and Benefits at American Express said that:

Our rose gold design quickly became a cardmember favorite when we introduced the limited-edition design a few years ago, so we knew we needed to bring it back as an option to choose from permanently,”
“In addition to the return of this special design, we are excited to now provide our Gold card members with even more value in dining with the new Uber Cash benefit
.”

So I think that this is a nice little benefit especially if you missed out on the card when it was first released.

The first thing to note about the card is that it has a $250 annual fee which is not cheap but you can offset the total cost of this if you utilize all of the benefits the card has.
Also if you are a new applicant you can earn 60,000 membership reward points after you spend $4,000 on the card within the first 6 months of opening the account.

And with these points, you can use them at so many different places.
If you go to American Express Travel you can book things such as flights, hotels, or travel upgrades.
Or you can redeem the points for different gift cards or even use them to pay for things during checkout at certain shops.

Next up the card will give you 4x points when dining, whether it be eating at a restaurant or getting takeout or delivery.

And you will also receive 4 x points at US supermarkets up to a total of $25,000 per calendar year which is equal to 100,000 points!
Then if you book any flights directly with an airline or Amextravel.com you will receive 3x points.
And all other purchases will receive 1x points.

Now let’s have a look at some of the benefits you get with this card and how you can pretty much offset the annual fee just by using them.
So the first benefit that you will get is $120 in Uber cash annually, and this is broken up into monthly allowances of $10 per month over the course of the year, and this can also be used on Uber eats if you don’t use Uber rides.

And this will only be credited to your account if you actually enroll in the card and use it to pay for your Uber trip or food order.
The next benefit you will receive is $120 in dining credit annually which can be used at multiple restaurants or home delivery services such as Grubhub or Seamless.

And similar to the Uber cash that you get, it is given back to you in $10 allotments each month in statement credits as long as you actually order food with the card.

The last benefit you can receive with this card to totally cover the cost of the annual fee is a $100 hotel credit that can be used at a variety of qualifying hotels for things such as dining, room upgrades, spa, and resort activities.
You just need to book a stay of at least 2 consecutive nights through Amex travel to receive the benefit.

So these three benefits right here cover the annual fee of the card by $90, so assuming you use all of them you will actually have the card for free in the first year.
This card is also a good option if you do travel a lot as it has no foreign transaction fees which is really helpful in saving you money when you are overseas.

You will also receive baggage insurance which will cover lost, damaged, or even stolen baggage as long as you purchase the entire fare with your card and this can be a flight a train trip a cruise ship, or a bus journey.
The coverage covers up to $1,250 for carry-on luggage and up to $500 for checked baggage.
One last benefit that is worth mentioning is that you can get car rental loss and damage insurance.

And how it works is quite simple, basically you just need to use the card to reserve and pay for the entire rental and then you can simply decline the collision damage waiver that the rental agency offers, and this can quite often save you a reasonable amount of money.

Just note that there are some restrictions and exclusions with this offer.
It provides secondary coverage but does not include liability coverage.
